Due to how quickly the world of IT is evolving this has led to an increase in the need for IT contractors, whether to update an antiquated system or whether to protect them from the ever increasing risks of cyber-crime.
However with the IT world developing at a breakneck speed finding the right contractor is becoming a bit of a mission for companies on the lookout for that special skill which will bring exactly what they are looking for into the company.
Therefore it is also becoming increasingly difficult to prove that you are the one that they are looking for without that piece of paper saying that you have the relevant qualifications, but with the IT world developing so fast what it to say that what is considered a good qualification today will not be almost redundant in six months.
The first step to solving this is to understand the various fields involved in modern IT contracting for instance System Architecting, IT Technicians, IT security, Cloud Infrastructure.  Whilst it is important to have a broad range of skills to cover all the various aspects of IT, as IT is too large a field to cover competently it is also important to have identified a specific area of expertise and to hone ones skills specifically to remaining at the top end of expertise concerning this.
The second is to be able to back up these skills with a globally-recognised certificate preferably that demonstrates your ability to adapt quickly in that given field.
Thirdly it is important to recognise programs that might be in high demand now, but are likely to either faze out or be completely replaced in the near future.
With the above in mind the below are a list of qualifications tipped to be top for 2016;
– Microsoft Specialist: Windows 10
– Microsoft MCSA: Windows Server 2016
– (ISC)2 Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
– ISACA Certified Cybersecurity Practitioner CSX
– ITIL® Practitioner
