A nationwide competition has been launched by the Association of Independent Professional and the Self-Employed (IPSE) in the United Kingdom to find Britain’s most talented freelancers and contractors.  This is the second year that IPSE has held this competition in an effort to give self-employment in the UK a boost.

This competition has two categories, the Inspire Award is open to independent workers aged 23 or older and the main prize is £5,000 with two runner up prizes of £2,500.  There is also an Aspire category for under 23’s, the winner of which will receive £3,000.

The competition is open until the 1st September 2015 at which point 15 finalists, 10 finalists for the Inspire Award and 5 finalists for the Aspire Award, will be invited to London where they will get to make their pitch to a panel of experts.  These finalists will be guests of honour at The IPSE Freelancer Awards ceremony to be held in London on the 12th November 2015 at which the winners will be revealed.

All three winners of the Inspire Award and the winner of the Aspire Award will receive expert media and presentation training along with business and technology support.  All fifteen finalists will receive various technology prizes and business support.

Contractors who believe that they are more talented and have better work ethics than other contractors in their field should consider applying.
